Convictions

Théâtre Français de Toronto.

The Khourrys, a family of Lebanese-Canadian origin, have recently moved to a Toronto suburb. Their beliefs are soon tested when 13-year-old Zara begins to hear a mysterious voice speaking to her.

Where do our convictions come from? Are they inherited from our families? Influenced by our environment? Do they come from our education? Or from our relationship with religion?

Lara Arabian’s new play questions the place our socio-cultural heritage should take in our lives as personal experiences inevitably shape our own convictions.
